Revelations

Over the holiday LRT uploaded all of her music and left cd's like so many bones in a pile. I was perusing and found something interesting, a disc with lots of titles written in her singular style. I popped it in to see if it would appeal to me. Yes, mostly it did. I express surprise at some of the choices - Neil Diamond, John Denver and Barry Manilow. Did she make this in high school, college? Did she include this disc on her iPod? Evidence is evidence, Lauren has a mushy side. But I knew that.

Thanks, I do love me a good Kermit ballad.

  1. You don't think my mushy side includes "Mandy", do you? Really?
Think more along the lines of "I Am An Island", not so much "Seasons In The Sun".

Did you notice the title on that little collection of songs? This is why it's funny: "Me First" is a little side project cover band of some of the guys from NOFX; pop-punk legends of the 1990's.

So if you're interested in some scream-y versions of of any of those songs, I can supply that too. Mostly the original recording artists did it best, but "I Sing the Body Electric" is vastly improved with a little speed injection, and John Denver is just the worst.

  2. Who sings "stand by your man"? that was kind of pop/punk. Yea, "seasons in the sun" was a real surprise.
